Fellow Grapefruit League owners love the Sox and Yankees too. As do ticket scalpers trying to turn a profit on StubHub and other websites for baseball's exhibition season. In Florida, where half of MLB's 30 teams train, online scalpers are asking hundreds of dollars--multiples over face value-- for games involving Boston or New York. Those prices could decline before the game days arrive in March, but what jumps out is how far they stand above the current asking prices for other spring training games. The seven most expensive Grapefruit League games include one or both of the league's two heavyweights.

The other three games that round out the top 10 are over in Arizona, where the San Francisco Giants have long reigned as the Cactus League's most popular team. The Giants, who now have a World Series Championship to add to their local appeal, account for the three highest-priced games in Arizona this spring: home games in Scottsdale, Ariz., against the Dodgers ($471) and Rockies ($205), and a late-spring road game at the Dodgers' swanky Camelback Ranch complex in Glendale, Calif., ($206). Even the Cubs, a Cactus League team with a strong national brand, don't command those kinds of prices. The most expensive Cubs tickets on StubHub right now are $201 box seats for a pair of games in Las Vegas against the Reds and Dodgers. Few tickets at the club's regular spring park in Mesa, Ariz., go for more than $100.

This is a tentative San Francisco Giants 2023 spring training schedule, subject to changes and additions. Still to come: game times, reporting dates, dates tickets go on sale, and broadcast schedules.

The 53-acre site houses the stadium and the surrounding spring-training complex with four-and-a-half practice fields and 35,000 square feet of clubhouses and office space. It maintains a national reputation as a premier baseball facility and continues to be the mecca of baseball activity in the this area.

Spring Training Near Disney World: The Atlanta Braves used to hold spring training at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista. That ended in 2019. So, fly in or out of Tampa before heading to Disney World. There are several spring training sites in the area and the Tigers stadium is on the route to Orlando.

Major League spring training games are substantially cheaper than their regular season counterparts. But, there are also opportunities to see your favorite players for FREE during the annual warmups in Florida and Arizona.

We are very proud to be the spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. Our facility raises the bar for major league baseball spring training. Not only are we surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountain views in all of baseball, but we are building the biggest and best spring training baseball facility in the country.

Each team has a year-round presence in Arizona, through spring training, extended spring training, Arizona (rookie) League, Fall Instructional League and rehabilitation of injured players at their training complexes.

Starting in mid-February, just in time for our beautiful spring weather, Goodyear Ballpark becomes a bustling hub of baseball activity. Spring training season consists of approximately 30 games, which equates to about a game a day for 30 days.

Fans here will have their own dedicated concessions and restrooms as well as access to the rest of the park. It is a great way to socialize, take in some baseball, and the beautiful Phoenix warmth during spring training.

The Budweiser Rooftop is a great place for a casual spring training experience. It felt like sitting out on the front porch and watching a game rather than being in a seat in a stadium. The extra space with a table is nice. Would definitely get these tickets again!

MLB spring training takes place in two places in the United States. The East Coast based teams play in central and southern Florida in the Grapefruit League. Game locations stretch from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando and Tampa. All the teams from the West and Midwest head for equally sunny Arizona. The aptly-named Cactus League is concentrated in the greater Phoenix area.

The reason many fans love going to spring training is to have the chance to see their favorite players in a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere. And for anyone who lives in a cold weather location looking to to escape the winter doldrums back home in a warmer locale, any excuse to travel to Arizona or Florida is a good one!

Whether you are a baseball super-fan or just someone looking for a family-friendly vacation in warmer weather, I can highly recommend the Cactus League. My husband and I traveled to Arizona for spring training many years before we had children, but were so thrilled finally to take kids along.

While neither of the Arizona spring training games we attended were ultimately a sell-out, we were able to select prime seats for both of them by planning early. Tickets now work on the MLB app on your phone, so get an account to streamline the process.

When my husband and I first went to spring training in Arizona nearly 20 years ago, many of the MLB teams played in stadiums not much bigger than a high school baseball field. It was so easy to get up close to your favorite players back then, even from the cheap seats.

Unless your kids are super-obsessed with baseball and are going to sit through multiple games with rapt attention, I highly recommend doing more than just baseball while you are in town for Arizona spring training (see more things to do in Phoenix). We were luckily able to spend three days before the games got started in the Tempe area and found more to do than we could possibly cram into 72 hours.
