Prison Break is an American television series that follows the adventures of two brothers, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, who escape from prison and fight against a powerful organization called The Company. The fourth season of Prison Break aired from September 2008 to May 2009 and consisted of 24 episodes, including two straight to DVD episodes that serve as the series finale.
Plot summary
The fourth season begins with Michael and Lincoln being recruited by Homeland Security agent Don Self to join a team of former inmates and allies to bring down The Company. The team's mission is to find and destroy Scylla, a mysterious device that contains all the secrets and plans of The Company. To do so, they need to obtain six cards that are held by different Company operatives around the world. However, they soon discover that Scylla is more than just a device, and that their enemies are not who they seem.

Reception
The fourth season of Prison Break received mixed reviews from critics and fans. Some praised the fast-paced action and the twists and turns of the plot, while others criticized the implausible scenarios and the lack of character development. The season averaged 6.1 million viewers per episode in the United States, which was a significant drop from the previous seasons. The series finale was watched by 5.3 million viewers, which was considered disappointing by Fox executives.
